Let Your Glory Fall

Worship Leader: Don Moen
Integrity Hosanna! Music, 1997

Reviewed by Wesley Cheong

I was in a Christian music shop recently. My eye caught on "Hatiku" (My Heart), a recording of an Integrity concert in Indonesia. I asked the shopkeeper what style the music was. "It's in Integrity Hosanna style," he said. "Every Integrity tape, from beginning to last, is in the same style."

And this style is once again evident in Integrity's latest offering, Let Your Glory Fall, featuring famous worship leader Don Moen.

All the songs on this album are new and published by Integrity. The album starts with a meditative song "We give thanks", very reminiscent of starting songs in other Don Moen albums such as Rivers of Joy. The praise that follows is a little subdued and less energetic than that in Rivers of Joy. For example, "God is here" is in a light "saxophone" style.

What makes this album stand out, however, are the long instrumental sections during the worship songs, such as that after Be Still My Soul (a 1997 song by Kim Noblitt, one of the vocalists). These instrumental sections are more expressive and longer than many other Integrity albums, an excellent offering by Integrity's star-studded band. "More of You" is a nice worship song.

Generally, the mood is a contemplative and quiet one, one reminiscent of earlier Integrity albums.
